Training & Big Congratulations at Woo Hair Salon in Thorpe Bay
We’ve had such an exciting few months at Woo Hair and honestly, we could not feel prouder of our team right now.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to our lovely Grace, who has officially passed her Level 2 qualification with flying colours. We are all incredibly proud of how hard she has worked since starting her training journey back in August 2024.
To complete her qualification in just over a year and a half is such an achievement and honestly, Grace has such a natural talent for hairdressing. We already know she is going to become an amazing stylist with a fantastic future ahead of her.
After a short well-earned break, Grace will now move onto her Level 3 training and continue building her skills even further.
Grace Is Already Building a Loyal Client Base
One thing we all noticed very quickly about Grace is how naturally she connects with clients. She genuinely loves every aspect of salon life and brings such a calm, friendly energy into the salon.
Grace especially loves colour work and already excels in highlights, toners and tint services. She also absolutely loves perms, so if textured hair and movement are your thing, Grace is definitely your girl.
Alongside her colour expertise, Grace has trained in a wide range of cutting and styling techniques, including short and long graduation, one-length cuts, layering, professional blow-dries, and hair setting and dressing, giving her a strong foundation across all aspects of hairdressing.
Maddie & Frankie Begin Their Wella Colour Expert Journey
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Maddie and Frankie have also started working towards their Wella Colour Expert qualification, which is one of the highest colour qualifications in the hair industry.
This course involves six months of intensive training alongside five separate exams, all taking place at the incredible Wella Studios at One Strand in London.
The training covers advanced colour theory, chemistry, colour correction, light reflection, tone balancing and advanced colouring techniques.
Both girls are absolutely loving the course so far and bringing so much knowledge back into the salon already.
Frankie’s Favourite Topic? The Human Eye & Colour Perception
Frankie is currently loving the sections focused on how the human eye sees colour. She finds it fascinating how differently people can perceive tones and shades, especially when working as a colourist every single day.
Understanding how colour reacts under different lighting and how clients individually see warmth, coolness and tone makes such a huge difference when creating personalised colour results.
Maddie Is Loving Advanced Colour Correction
Meanwhile, Maddie is really enjoying the advanced colour correction side of the course, particularly darkening and “back to natural” colour work.
She’s been learning advanced darkening formulas and techniques for clients who want to move away from very light blonde hair and return to richer, more natural shades without exposing too much unwanted warmth.
This part of the course has really helped build her confidence with more complex colour correction services and advanced neutralising techniques.
Team Days Matter Too
Of course, it’s not all training and exams. We recently enjoyed a brilliant team day out together in an escape room and somehow managed to escape with just eight minutes left on the clock. Stressful but very funny.
We followed it up with lunch at Wagamama and finished the day with drinks at one of our favourite local spots, The Roslin Beach Hotel.
Days like this are so important to us as a team. We work incredibly hard in salon and genuinely love spending time together outside of work too.
Thank You for Supporting Our Team
Watching our team grow, train and develop their careers is one of the best parts of salon life. We feel incredibly lucky to work with such talented, passionate people and even luckier to have such supportive clients cheering them on along the way.
We cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings for Grace, Maddie, Frankie and the team.
